OPEC: Limited Options

The risk that OPEC calls an emergency meeting in the face of weakening oil prices is at present low. Any move to effect new production constraints would require a U-turn in Saudi oil policy, a change of strategy from Iran and Iraq as well as the cooperation of major non-OPEC producers – none of which we see as likely in the near term.
